Fruitfulness of the Journey =  Resourcefulness of the Traveller

Every single one of us is on a journey. A journey has the potential to engage you and others in more ways than one. It could impart learning, inspiration, entertainment;  and, the opportunity to reach a destination.

Yet, all said and done, the journey is dependent on who travels and how s/he travels. That would, in turn, define whether the journey is fruitful or not.

Whenever we decide to travel, one thing that comes to mind is the resources needed. We ourselves are equipped with certain resources - apparel, tools, nourishment and plans.
Besides these, however, we carry a crucial element. That is the ability to be Resourceful. This quality is independent of all the tools needed for one to be able to travel.

Resourcefulness is one's ability to look at situations and people with fresh eyes. This would mean paying conscious attention to creatively managing aspects of a situation.

Resourcefulness also includes acceptance and utilization of existing resources to further nourish one's experience.

Bringing perspectives of learning, curiosity and awe into one's experiences helps. It not only allows one to utilize latent abilities (which would have otherwise been dependent on chance) but also instils a sense of faith in self. The journey then feels productive and fruitful.

A few takeaway questions for us to reflect on and keep coming back to would be as follows:-
  • Am I productively assimilating my current life experiences?
  • Am I open to exploring and navigating possibilities?
  • Do I have a sense of awe to capture my awareness of and about both the path and the destination?
  • Have I tried enough?
Answers to the above Yes/No questions reveal your level of enthusiasm, patience and openness.

Resourcefulness would be a by-product of the values that one would bring forth for the journey.
